A great video which clearly and concisely explains the risks. As someone with early cataracts(3yrs), but also early borderline glaucoma (3yrs), pseudoexfoliation (3yrs), Fuch's (6months), and and an epirentinal membrane OS, I am absolutely terrified of all the potential complications of cataract surgery. Thank you so much for putting this together!

Been on latanoprost for 3-4 years. Doc says pressure went up - was 14 now 20 - so last week started me on B&L .2% generic brimonidine; after 3 days experiecing itching, discharge and pain around the eyes. Have not called Dr. yet they are a large chain clinic always too busy. So far reading and watching videos there does not appear to be alternatives but the info about less dosage and preservatives is helpful. Thanks for the careful walk through.

Thank you so much and please continue. I've failed laser treatment and about 7 medications so far for my glaucoma. Trying the 8th now. After doing my own research, I revamped my diet which is now full of fresh fruits and vegetables (and no processed foods), meditate an hour a day, exercise to my capacity, including using a mini trampoline (said to improve blood flow to the optic nerve), and take gingko (said to improve peripheral vision). We'll see how my eyes do. I certainly feel better systemically. I already have a blind spot in the central vision of one eye and I sort of feel like it's improving.... I would really love any other suggestions you might have for things I could try, to help keep my vision.

Thanks Dr. Richardson. I have watched and learnt from many of your programs. I am a Board Certified Internist and after 45 years practice I consider myself " a doctor's doctor". What you teach is very pertinent to today's medicine which is unnecessarily speciacialized. I have open angle glaucoma and lost partial visual loss OS. I have had laser procedure 2 months ago and pressure still not normal. I shall tell my ophthalmologist tomorrow about your above video. I live in San Mateo and will contact your office for an appmnt.

My doctor prescribed Xalatan because my eye pressure and a family history as a preventative measure, but when I used the drops my blood pressure would go through the roof. (140/95). He wouldn’t address the problem so I stop and my blood retired to normal (115/70). Thank you for this information.

I had istents in both eye but this only lowered pressure for just 12 months before I had trabeculectomny in my left eye and whilst pressure fell and remains under control (with no drops) it took over 12 months for my vision to return to normal. I recently went for canaloplasty in my right eye and sadly am captured by the 2 percent who lost their vision.

Really appreciate your videos. My mom was told by and optometrist that she has narrow angles and later told by an ophthalmologist “not so narrow”. From what I can gather I don’t think anyone has done a proper gonioscopy on her to truly evaluate it. It would be great if you walked through gonioscopy process (can it be done w/o a lens on the eyeball?).
